The Redfish Nation leans on its members at the grassroots levels to spread the word concerning redfish events and spread the love of fishing, in general. The people forming regional and national clubs create the backbone of our support. The Redfish Nation recognizes the following officially-sanctioned clubs and celebrates these relationships throughout the course of the 2008 Oh Boy! Oberto Redfish Cup season.

Coastal Kayak Angler

With the high cost of fuel affecting fishing expeditions today, anglers are finding more creative ways to get out on the water. And more often than not, simplicity reigns supreme. Kayak fishing, one of the fastest sports in the outdoors space, allows for more access on the water at substantial less cost. The Coastal Kayak Angler club has exploded in popularity in response to this attractive fishing avenue.

The Redfish Nation is thrilled to call itself a partner of the Coastal Kayak Angler organization and is looks forward to paddling together for many years to come.

Texas Lady Anglers

The Texas Lady Anglers have been one of the strongest clubs for the Redfish Nation over the past several years. This club supports women who have a passion for fishing and a desire to have fun.

"We have enjoyed our association with the Redfish Nation over the past several years," said Roberta Lopis, who handles public relations for the TLA. "With 3 all-ladies TLA teams already competing professionally this year, we're hoping for even more to compete in the future."

Whether you're a novice or a professional angler, Texas Lady Anglers is a great resource for any angler.

Florida Lure Anglers, Inc.

When local Jacksonville professional anglers wanted to promote "artificial only" saltwater fishing formats around the state, Florida Lure Anglers was born. But the family-oriented fishing club based, isn't just a club for professional anglers anymore. Today, the club promotes saltwater lure fishing at all levels, especially among beginners and they do it by offering Junior, Teen and Lady "Angler of the Year" titles as a complement to our Club "Angler of the Year" title.

"Our affiliation with the Nation has established us as a legitimate saltwater fishing club, has grown our membership and continues to serve as a farm league for our anglers to move into the big time—the Oh Boy! Oberto Redfish Cup." --Bob Morris, President, Florida Lure Anglers.

Emerald Coast Redfish Club

The Emerald Coast Redfish Club is a saltwater fishing club based in Fort Walton Beach, Florida and gets its name from the way many refer to the Gulf Coast. But don't let the name fool you, while they are into chasing redfish, these local anglers promote the catch and release of all fishing through a fun and competitive atmosphere. The competition aspect of the club gives anglers a chance to gain points based on nine tournaments and a two-angler team format. And the club helps to build awareness about inshore fishing in the area.

"The Redfish Nation has really helped us get our name out there and let people know that there's more than just offshore fishing around here," president of the club, Rob Lawson, said. "The Cup has put the spotlight on redfishing and hopefully one day some of our guys will fish the tour."
